Exterior Lighting Diagnostic Challenge

A customer complaint, one hidden fault, and your test results. Diagnose before revealing the answer.

1 · Service ticket

Select “Start new job” to receive a customer complaint.

Training mode: each job contains one simplified fault. There is no timer or penalty for testing.

2 · Operate the vehicle

3 · Inspect the lamps

FRONT OF VEHICLE

REAR OF VEHICLE

Operate the vehicle to inspect its lights.

Turn and hazard lamps flash in a repeating on/off cycle. Some real vehicles use different wiring and bulb-failure strategies.

4 · Measure the circuit

12.6 V
Select a test point and operate its circuit.
A reading of 0 V may be normal with the command OFF. Activate the relevant circuit before interpreting the measurement. Readings are approximate teaching values, not vehicle specifications.

5 · Submit your diagnosis

Educational simplification: individual fuses, conventional bulbs, 12.6 V supply and static measurements. Real systems may use BCMs, LED modules, PWM, shared circuits and manufacturer-specific diagnostics.
