Engine Control Explorer
Explore eight elements of the engine-management loop. Select an element to distinguish the signal or command from its physical effect.
Four Engine-Control Journeys
Trace the movement of information and energy from driver request to engine response and verification.
Fuel Feedback Lab · Command Is Not Delivery
Explore a fictional steady-state teaching model. The controller starts with an arbitrary baseline fuel command of 100 units. Change the actual fuel-delivery factor and the controller's illustrated correction to see how the physical result can diverge from the command.
The Challenger asks
A fictional engine actually delivers only 80% of the fuel requested at baseline. Which adjustment brings the simple model closest to the original 100-unit target?
This arithmetic model holds air demand constant, uses an invented delivery factor, and excludes real sensor dynamics, fuel-pressure behavior, trims, saturation, adaptation and combustion limits. The calculated direction never diagnoses an actual vehicle.
Engine Management Decisions
Six fictional service cases. Compare request, command, physical effect and feedback before choosing a diagnostic step.
07.1 · Knowledge Check
Answer all ten questions to record a browser-local learning score. This does not establish hands-on diagnostic competence or vehicle-repair verification.
