Power-path layout explorer
Choose a common layout. These diagrams are conceptual; real vehicle architecture varies with powertrain, engine position and AWD design.
An electric drive unit or other manufacturer-specific architecture may have a different physical path.
Gear ratio: speed versus torque
Adjust a fictional gear ratio and driveline efficiency. Assume a single mechanical input and steady operation; this simple model intentionally omits converter multiplication, slip, tire forces, changing losses and all vehicle-specific behavior.
Input power = torque × rotational speed × 2π/60. Output RPM = input RPM ÷ reduction ratio. Output torque = input torque × ratio × efficiency. These are classroom equations, not a vehicle performance estimator.
Power-path diagnostic cases
Choose what evidence to inspect. If you decide before reviewing essential findings, the case will tell you what information is still missing. An answer from a fictional case is a reasoning exercise—not an actual service recommendation.

Knowledge check · 10 questions
This score measures answers to classroom questions. It is stored separately from the fictional case review and practical assessment.
Instructor-observed practical assessment
Print-first worksheet: this form is for an instructor conducting supervised work on an identified training vehicle. It is not auto-graded or uploaded; typed entries are local to this open page and should be printed/saved by the instructor.
Readiness and safety
Instructor confirms safe authorization and prerequisites before a practical task begins.
