AUTONATOMY · COURSE 11
11.6 · Fluid, Heat & Service Verification

Fluid, Cooling & In-Vehicle Service

Learn to treat transmission fluid as a working component—not just a lubricant. Follow the fluid from the sump through the pump, controls, apply devices and cooler circuit, then use service information, temperature, level, condition and leak evidence to make a defensible in-vehicle service decision.

7 lessons · 8-part explorer · cooler-temperature lab · service-sequence challenge · 4 diagnostic cases · 10-question check
Service boundary: Fluid type, fill quantity, level-check temperature, engine-running state, gear-range sequence, filter service, cooler-flow test and exchange procedure are transmission-specific. This module teaches reasoning and workflow only. Always verify the exact unit and follow current OEM service information before servicing a real vehicle. Do not use fluid color alone to identify ATF or to condemn a transmission.

Connection to Course 11: This module sits after the hydraulic/electronic control lessons because fluid condition, level and temperature affect every control system you have already studied. The next subcourse, 11.7, moves from service evidence into shift-quality, ratio and pressure diagnosis.
