This module uses fictional service events, offsets and decision states for teaching. ADAS reset/calibration requirements are vehicle- and procedure-specific; an alignment, suspension repair, steering repair, collision repair, glass service or sensor disturbance does not create one universal calibration rule. Use the exact OEM/service information, required equipment, target setup, environmental conditions, preconditions and post-repair verification for the vehicle. Browser completion is not authorization or practical calibration competency.
Turn subjective ride and vibration complaints into measurable evidence
12.1–12.5 built geometry, suspension, steering, wheel/tire and alignment knowledge. 12.6 combines them with rotational-frequency and condition-based diagnosis. Previous: 12.5 Wheel Alignment & Measurement. Next planned module: 12.7 · Chassis Service & ADAS-Related Alignment Considerations.
Trace what changed before choosing a reset or calibration
Separate mechanical readiness from the OEM calibration trigger
This fictional lab is a decision model, not a calibration specification. Use the presets or change the evidence. The result changes only when the mechanical/reference condition and the documented service trigger support it.
Teaching rule: the lab never decides a real vehicle's calibration requirement. The “documented OEM trigger” control represents information already verified in the exact service procedure. Mechanical readiness and prerequisites can block a procedure even when a trigger exists.
Build one repair record from service event to final verification
Ordered chassis-service / ADAS workflow
Complete the sequence in order.
Evidence
Best supported conclusion / next step
10-question knowledge check
Online workflow reasoning is not hands-on alignment or calibration competency
Use approved equipment, exact service procedures and instructor-controlled vehicles/trainers. Observe the learner connecting mechanical chassis evidence with documented OEM reset/calibration requirements and final verification.
