Oil & Coolant Component Explorer
Explore eight component groups that control oil delivery, coolant circulation and heat rejection.
Four Flow & Diagnostic Journeys
Trace conceptual oil and coolant paths and compare evidence-led approaches to pressure and temperature complaints.
Flow & Heat Lab · Two Simplified Models
Compare a pressure drop across one hypothetical oil passage with a coolant heat-balance trend. These independent models teach relationships—not an engine's actual oil pressure, coolant temperature, oil delivery or safe operating limit.
Oil passage: pressure drop = flow index × restriction index
At a fixed fictional flow, more restriction produces a larger modeled pressure difference across that passage. This does not mean more oil reaches downstream bearings. Real pump regulation, leaks and temperature change the circuit.
Coolant heat balance: heat entering versus heat removed
A steady temperature requires heat entering and leaving to balance over the modeled interval. Thermal storage, controls and actual temperature are not calculated.
The Challenger asks
In the simplified oil-passage model, the pressure difference increases when restriction increases while flow is fixed. Which conclusion is supported?
All slider values are dimensionless teaching indexes. They are not kPa, psi, °C, °F, pump specifications, diagnostic tolerances, pressure limits, or an OEM test.
Lubrication & Cooling Challenges
Six fictional shop scenarios teach protective stop-work decisions and evidence-led diagnosis.
